Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an better service.

He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.

He saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
